Congrats and welcome to the forum
Of course keeping the car looking showroom fresh really depends on where you drive, when you drive, etc. The more you drive it and the conditions you drive it in will ultimately effect what you will need to do / use to keep her clean.
Use only automotive approved soap of course. And keep it waxed and protected every few months, again depending on your driving conditions.
I have used 3M products in the past, and have had very good luck. Really it's just a matter of choice, take what advice you get here, and find and stick with a product your satisfied with. There are probably as many choices out there as there are members here. As for drying it, get yourself a real good Chamois, not one that is synthetic, and I follow up behind it with 100% terry cloth. It really keeps the water spots to a minimum. Never wash it or wax it of course in the sun. I don't like sponges because they tend to collect the small dirt particles in them, and this can cause those tiny scratch marks, especially and the darker color cars, like yours.
Again you may have to try a few different products till you find the right one for you, Good Luck, and enjoy that car.

Thanks again for your reply on the Front End Cover and Vette Cleaning. This is my 1st Vette and maybe my last, have had many nice general auto's but nothing like this so right now I'm handling this Vette with Kid Gloves, appreciate your input.

i have an 07 z and ya cant take it to a car wash i would like to keep it sharp and it sounds easy well it aint. here is a list of stuff, pre wax cleaner quick shine, rubbing compound, polishing compound, scratch removal ,bug removal, sealer, liquid wax, paste wax,wax from mars.if ya ever had to buy ink cartriges for a printer ya know what i mean,o i forgot .pads to put the stuff on at least 4 types, cloth to take including animal skin from tibet ,many.85 grand and i got to shift and wash it.wait till ya try and get the brake dust off,any thing ya spray on it looks like some wierd goo.and the fluid leak on front wheels is the brake dust .i kid you not.i put mine on my mid rise lift, pulled the tires so i could psi wash then put a "wax" to let the dust come off easier,i hit the button for the over head door and ooopps ,now i got a groove on my roof for channeling rain water.doodoo happens. i do have luck with MR CLEAN CAR WASH SYSTEM and SPRAY NINE for rims. good luck
