Default 2017 cracked rims

Help please!
I have a 2017 grand sport wit almost 20k miles. I was told i need 4 new tires 1 has metal showing. Also we then were told we have 5 to 6 cracks in each rear rim. We are being told this is normal for traveling on bad paved roads! This is crazy to me to have to spend $2000.00 for 4 new tires and now another $2000.00 for 2 rims just seems crazy to me.
I have had 5 corvettes and never had this problem until i purchased a 2014 stingray that this happened to 1 rim as well.

Welcome to the forum.

Not knowing what types of roads you been driving on, about the only thing I could suggest would be to have your wheels subjected to a metallurgical analysis to see why they cracked.

There are options to buy slightly used rims for your GS for less.

Here is what I have read, been told. If you drive in Track mode on city streets or streets that have small to medium pot holes you will MOST DEFINITELY have cracks in your wheels (not tires). Unfortunately this is a very common thing on C7's. You will even experience cracks NOT in track mode on crappy roads, but in track mode its a sure bet allegedly.

I know, sucks.

Does the track mode stiffen the suspension and cause the potholes to crack the rims?

Default GS Cracked Rims

You can have your wheels repaired much cheaper than purchasing new or used wheels-----I have a local place in Carrollton, TX that straightened/repaired one of my rear wheels for $150.00
