01 vette electrical problem
My 01 vette has an electrical problem I think. The dash info lights display problems with lots of things such as ABS traction and active handling etc. Have taken to dealer several times and have been told that its probably the computer but until the lights stay on constantly the warranty won't cover it. Dealer says he's seen this in an 01 before. Has anyone got an answer for this annoying problem? Thanks
Need some more info.
When does this happen - only for a minute or so right after you first start the car -- maybe not every time, but sometimes. Or does it happen at random times when you are out driving.
And do you mean the actual "warnings lights" come on? By this I mean the the little icon/symbols that light up, or that the computerized display in the middle of instrument panel says something like, "ACTIVE HANDLING SCREWED UP" or something?
Is it just the active handling, traction control, and ABS, or do you have engine warning lights such as oil pressure, temp, or anything?

NOTE: On some 'vettes, once in a while -- not often but once in a while -- for a minute or more after you start the car you will get a dinging computer message and warning lights that cycle across the little message center in front of you saying something like "ACTIVE HANDLING DISABLED -- ABS NOT WORKING" or whatever. It then may shift to "ACTIVE HANDLING WARMING UP" and then go away, or it may just go away after a minute or two. I won't say it is normal but it is common and its the type of thing I just tolerate. I think the computer is just waiting for certain sensors to align or something. Regardless, my sense is its not serious and it is the type of thing that you could have a dealer try to track down only to realy realy screw up that car while fixing nothing.
