Default '98 C5 "Service Engine" Warning + More

Hello Everyone,

Roy Dudley here. New member, with I hope an easy question. My '98 C5 Coupe w/105,000 miles went to bed healthy but this AM when I turned the key I got the following warnings on my dash readouts: Service Engine, Shocks Inopeative, Reduced Power, ABS and noticed the temp gauge was pegged at 260 (but engine was cold), the fuel gauge was on E but I knew it was F. Finally, noticed the car was sort of "huffing" and lots of (rich mixture) smoke out the exhaust.

I hope this is a simple question needing only a bit of 'adult supervision' from the group. Is this something that's easily diagnosed?

Looking forward to your reply, and to becoming part of the group.

Thanks everyone,

Roy

First clue would be to have the car scanned for trouble codes with the "Service Engine" light on. Sounds like you might have blown a gauge fuse.
