Hi Everyone,
Somewhere along the line things have changed withmy digital display. It use to show the words "Corvette by Chevrolet" everytime I would start my vette and now it does not. Do you think one of the many times it was into the dealership for work, they did something to cause that change? It is no big deal . . . just wondering.

Hmmm . . . mine doesn't say anything on start up . . .

 

Maybe it issomethingexclusive to the '04 vette. It was just this little trick thing it use to do, which was kind of cool. I am wondering if when they replaced my battery if that didn't require to some degree reprogramming of my vette's computer, and I'm wondering if that is where I lost that capability. Just wondering. Nothing that would make me take my vette back into the dealership, as I try to stay as far away from them as possible. Seems everytime I go there, they fix one thing and shortly thereafter something else goes. Hmmmm

I asked asround and a lot of 'vettes do it. Some don't. My car's computers have been re-programmed so many times -- that's the reason I believe for mine. There may be a way to turn it on and off, or remove it from the computer, but I don't know what that is.

 

Mine does scroll it across the DIC when I turn the key on. It's probably an option that you can turn on and off and the dealer turned it off (probably accidentally) when you were having your electrical problems.

 

Thanks, Guys! That sounds right to me, too. I will look through my manual to see if I can turn this feature back on. If not, I'll wait until the next time my vette is at the dealership.

Well, it was a quick fix - I just hit the reset button on the DIC and the "Corvette by Chevrolet" banner came back.
