For those who have experienced this phenomenon and those who will in the future I would like to update you on my personal drive to get this fixed by GM. I monthly call and write to the company for an update on the engineering progress. To date they appear to be dragging their feet and hoping we will all go away. Therefore,yesterday I filed an official complaint with the FTC.gov to establish at least documentation of their lack of performance in resolving this. Since there probably will not be enough owners do the same it will only serve to make me feel good that at least I said something. I let GM know I had filed as well. Next I contacted my TN state Attorney General Office of Consumer Affairs and filed a complaint with lengthy documentation of contacts with GM reps as well as stating the issue very thoroughly. In the complaint I named GM as the Respondent and they will get a call and be required to answer---sort of like the BBB if you have ever dealt with a local company problem. We'll see where this goes. I'll keep you all posted.

Got a phone call from Jessica Roseland at Exec Asst for GM. She said her contacts said that they would expect a release of a fix sometime in the first quarter of 2020—that would be January/February 2020.
Hey Gully, I thought you were supposed to give ME the answers here!! LOL I have an appointment with the dealer Wednesday to completely reprogram the car like the day it left the factory. If that doesn't fix it, I'm considering a Pioneer AVIC 7201NEX with backup camera and all the latestest info entertainment system goodies. Bad thing is none of these new radios are equipped to connect the 6 disk CD changer that I have on the vehicle--everything is so streaming and downloaded music anymore, c=CD's are as archaic as my old 8 Track player from 1975.
Do you have experience with Pioneer stereos? Would you recommend them?
Sorry for being off topic. Maybe you or somebody else can help me. I'm searching for a new stereo. I've been reading reviews about Pioneer decks but they are useless hype. All the positives are covered and they rarely mention the drawbacks. The DMH-1500NEX head unit landed on my short list. From all the blogs that I've read one stood out. The blogger was hyper critical about all brands and put me on the fence. Well this Pioneer car stereo review was OK until I've reached the shortcomings section. Does it really take 30s to load? How hard is to install these units anyways?

There is a Quick fix already out.
It is on another corvette web site, I can bring both them up at the same time.
It is very simple, you need a computer that will write to a CD-RW disk (Only)
Go to the link copy it to the disk and Remove and replace your nav disc with the fix
It takes about 2 minutes to load, then remove the disc and replace your nav disc.
I just used it today worked like a charm, clock back working.

Is there any place I could get a CD-RW disc to fix this problem. I am not a computer guy, I need help. Thank Rwentz. This just happened to me because I had to take the battery out of my 2008 Corvette. Can not reset the time now.
I am the original owner of a 2008 C6 Corvette convertible. I have exhausted the local dealerships, ONSTAR techs and GM help line with a problem that occurred when the battery drained and was out for a few weeks. The issue is that the Navigation screen does NOT display the time--either GPS or entered. In fact, all the buttons associated with setting the time just "beep" but nothing will trigger a change. This then does not allow the navigation to predict arrival times to set destinations either ONSTAR turn-by-turn or using the NavDisk in the car. Everything else works except that clock.
I have tried all combinations of battery disconnect and reconnect and even yesterday took the Nav unit out of the car to ensure it powered down--all with the same failure.
I was hoping someone in your membership might have come across this and can guide me to a solution to recover it. I'm thinking there is a "hot spot" on the screen that opens a diagnosis/setting screen that I do not know about. I have found the maintenance Diagnosis "hot spot" in the middle of the Nav M
enu and located the six digit PIN to open it but it does not have any access to setting the time from another avenue.
Is it possible that a complete repair or reprogramming of the car is available at the dealership that will fix a possible "corrupted time file?" Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I was having the same issues and like a week ago the clock came up. No idea if I press any bottom or whatever. Just showed on the screen. My question is how to change the date.

I think I have found the issue. I have talked to some saavy radio repair services in LA and NYC and gotten to a guy who knew exactly what I was talking about. AND IT CANNOT BE FIXED--YET.
My source said, “About 6 weeks ago this started happening on any GM car with that NAV system—C6 Corvette, Cadillac CTS, etc.” He went on to say that he had contacted the engineers at DENSO, who made the product, and that they were aware of the issue but were not currently making an effort to find a fix—and he has a letter from DENSO stating such---the proverbial “smoking gun!”
He said that a lot of people have experienced this issue. And the rest, who as of yet haven't, do not know they will have it until two things occur:
1. The car loses power, i.e. the battery is disconnected
2. Then, when re-powered the GPS countdown clock has already glitched and it will be unable to establish the Year, Month, Day and Week to go any further into displaying the time. It’s a time bomb waiting to happen.
I called GM, explained it to a Customer Infotainment tech services gal, who then went to her supervisor to ask to escalate the issue. She was thrilled with all the information and background research I had already provided. Her supervisor was on board and was going to take it up the ladder to get a resolution.
Whether there is a future fix, a recall and a happy ending in my lifetime is an unknown, but at least I finally got the answer to our issue. You may want to alert your Club members who have this model.
some how my clock is working again after two years. A couple of weeks ago the navigation CD was not working so I put it out and in a couple of time and was working again. To my surprise the clock was working. Didn’t know if that had anything to do with it. You might try to keep your finger in the setting clock square In the screen and try all the other clock setting to see if it comes on.
