Default C3 shifter bracket

I am the owner of a 74 Vette and have a question about the shifter bracket. I recently found out that this bracket was not on my vehicle so I searched and found one. I now am trying to figure out how this bracket is mounted on the car. Please advise. Thanks

Hi,

Unfortunately this forum recently died. If you would like to pursue your love for Corvettes and find a useful forum where you can get some good constructive feedback go to ********.com, there are a lot of friendly and knowledgeable people there.

As coursonap said, they've got rubber bushings. They're actually a combo of rubber and metal. I had to press the mounts out to get my recent powder coating done. I suppose that you could press the rubber mounts out and replace them with solid bushings. I'm just not sure how that would feel in terms of the vibrations.

I can imagine that it would make everything feel a bit more solid but it just might rattle loose any dental work you got...
