Default CAGS 1-4 Skip Shift Harness Kit 2007 Z06

Hello All!

Several weeks ago I posted a thread regarding the CAGS 1-4 Bypass and the consensus of all responses was to go with the harness kit rather than mess with the fuses etc. I purchased a kit thru West Coast Corvettes not knowing really where to buy and I trusted other products I had purchased from them. Well low and behold I learned the hard way that GM used 2 different connectors for 2007 Z06 transmissions - a mushroom shaped one and an oval one. The one I purchased from WCC has a mushroom shaped connector and it is the only one they or their supplier offers. Of course as luck would have it my connector is oval shaped. Having already used the 'plug' part for the transmission I was unable to return the kit. I have since been able to install the harness part of the kit by using my Dremel tool and grinding out the inside of the mushroom shaped connector so it would accept my stock oval shaped connector. The bypass seems to work as I am no longer forced to shift from 1-4 at low RPMs etc and there are no error codes displayed. However the 1-4 light still illuminates on the dash even though I can do a normal 1-2 shift at any RPM. Has anyone out there that has installed one of these bypass kits know whether this is normal? I don't believe I've done anything wrong doing the install. Everything seemed to snap together and lock into place once I modified the WCC connector. The WCC or their supplier's website does not state whether the kit will eliminate the dash light. There is documentation that going the 'fuse' route does NOT eliminate the dash light. Can anyone give me some insight on this? Any comments/advice/solutions will be considered a plus. Thanx!
