Default heat problem

Can anyone offer advice on how to stop or reduce hot engine compartment air being blown into passenger compartment through continuous blower at defroster vent on the dash. It makes the dash hot to the touch around the opening. Air conditioned 454 1973 corvette (don't use the air).

Thanks

Check the where the rear of the hood seals to the cowling area at the base of the windshield as the intake air comes from this area. Not sure why it's coming out the defroster vents unless the mode selector is set on Defrost.

The hot air is coming from the single vent in the middle of the dash. Can't tell where the ductwork comes from but appears to go downward from the vent into the ductwork under the dash. There doesn't seem to be any leaks at the base of the hood but I suspect the air may be coming from the engine compartment into the ductwork.

Probably going to have to remove some of the dash panels to see what is happening with the duct work.
