no start..

Default no start..

went to start up my 99 corvette today, all i got was a click..no start..lights all were lit up.but when i turned the key the lights went out ,and came back on when i turned the key off? wentout and brought a new battery,same problem. never had any problems before this..im stumped..any help is greatly apreciated..

My first suspect is the starter is grounding out.
A fried armature is my guess. [&o]

put a meter on the batt yes the new batt.make sure ya got at least 12.70 volts.can you tell what is clicking?if the starter is clicking jack up the car and with some one in the car you TRUST parking brake on have them try to start car while the starter is clicking hit it with a hammer,dont killit [old gm starter trick]

Thanks for the help guys,tomorrow me and my brother are going to check it out.i"ll check out the battery/starter.and give it a once over. my corvettes got only 20000/miles on it and looks brand new..but ive owned it for over 8 years already and things do get old &go bad so i really cant complain..i"ll let you know how it turns out,thanks again...i"ll post a pic.as soon as i can....

just to let you all know...the problem is fixed, and my vette is up and running...it was the starter, and a big thanks to all of you for your help...perfect timing the weather is finally breaking and its cruising time....thanks again...
