remote control exhaust sound gadget for Z06
Seen them advertised. Supposed to make the same sound you hear when you hit a certain higher rpm, but with the device you can have that sound at an idle if you choose. Anybody use one? easy to install? Bad for the vehicle?
As far as I know, no equipment is needed, although there may be a small wiring harness like for the iCAGs that makes it easier to make the mod. But on any car with a two-stage exhaust (where a bypass around part of all of the mufflers opens under high perfromance conditions) you can just re-wire the electrical activator on the exhaust by-pass to open at idle and not at higher RPM. It may be just a fuse you pull: on many cars with this type of exhaust it is. One of those is my Aston Vantage, all I have to do is pull out fuse F22 in the BCM and I get snarling exhaust gurgles from idle all the way to the 8000 RPM redline rather than only about 4000 RPM: but that was fun for only about 10 minutes, then the fuse went back in - noise doesn't mean additional power, just -- well, more noise.
Check around , someone will know the details for the ZO6.
