Default starter

I recently bought a low mile 2000, I had an issue with the starter staying engaged and continue to run after the engine starts. Has anyone had this happen before? A new starter fixed it but....anyone have any ideas?

If it ain't doin' it any more, great. But I don't think it's the starter...

I bet what we got so far is a case of the fully automatic assault wallet [sm=shootshoot.gif][sm=violent053.gif]sprayin' a few rounds downrange.

Generally, I'd be suspicious of the solinoid.

This is a common problem that happens to lots of different types of cars. It's usually the satrer solenoid in which case replacing it and/or it and start fixes it. In rare cases the bellhouseing or mount is warped (usually from hitting something like a tall rock in the road and it does not cure it -- it that's the case you'll know soon and unfortunately replacing that costs $$$.
