hi i just bought a 1998c5 chevy corvette and my steering wheel locked up on me and i do not know how to unlock it thanks ryan

 

sound like a common steering wheel lock interface problem, has it been to the dealer for the recall? if not call your local dealer and schedule an apoitment to get it done, it only takes anbout an hour and completely free. you can also install you own column lock by-pass for about 50-60 bucks and easy to install (just search the sponsors sites very easy to find). if you wish to build your own by-pass i can give you the schematic and instructions on how, just send me a message and i'll get back to you within a day.

I have the same model with tre same problem that was resolved installing the aftermarket service colum lock by pass, try it... be sure there are no other by pass installed prior at dealer.

 

One way or another get it fixed well. It has occured to some unlucky folks while the car is moving. Ouch!!
