Default Water pump

Does a 89 Corvette have a reverse flow water pump?

Thanks Lahunter

I seriously doubt it. Water moves from the top of the engine to the top of the radiator. Drawn down through the radiator and back into the block. Your top hose connects to the intake manifold. The pump draws from the hose at the bottom of the radiator.

GM introduced reverse flow cooling in 1992, with the Generation II small block.

That's news to me. So, is the thermostat installed upside down?
Please explain the reverse flow operation. I'd really like to know.

The purpose of reverse flow is to cool the heads first, which allows for higher compression ratios.
