Default 1968 Big block motor

Hello C3 lovers of the world I finally bought my first 1968 C3 Coupe with a new crate motor 496 BB installed... im new to this forrum... so the previous owner gave what I think is the original 427 or 454 block with original heads, rods and intake...question where is the best place to get an estimate what the old Motor is worth? The engine pad #shows 361959 and C7B142201 stamped on it..heads show GM 6 & 3917215 original date coded fTom 1968...could someone help me figure out what is is worth? I'm still a rookie but learning fast

I guess i would check around the internet to see what similar engines are selling for in better or worse condition , with out opening it up its hard to say what its worth. You may want to keep it so if you sell it you could give it to the new owner ( some guys car about such things}

Thank you for the information. A lot of folks agree with you so it may be best for me to just hang on to it for now and sell it with the car... time to have some fun lovin this 68
