Default 96 LT4 - High RPM 1-2 Shift

I recently purchased a 96 LT4, customized to about 400 hp. The car runs great, and make super power, but it catches on the shift from 1 to 2 at high rpms, when trying to run through the gears quickly.

When I slow the shift to second, and allow about 1 second before shifting to second, it goes into 2 just fine.

I have read that a restrictor may be present in the braided hydraulic cluth line.

Any advice?

Soundsmore like a poorly adjusted clutch or a transmission syncr about to go bad.

EDIT: Disregard. I can't read.I see in your other thread that you have a stick.

6 years ago, I disconnected my TPS once, without unplugging the battery. If it says disconnect the battery before anything else, do it!

I found out a few days ago the last piece to the puzzle, about whywhen I plugged it back in, it seemed to string out each gear through the rpm range, before shifting- most noticeably, first to second.

The car's computer 'reads', and adapts to your driving style. Many parameters, including the shift times, are dictated by these 'reads', which occur about every 40 miles.

I plugged mine back in, and after two or threeweekend drives, shift pointsgotback to thesmoother, and earliertimes.

The hard shift at higher rpms in a 'higher-powered' vehicle indicates a good TC lock-up.

Give yours a few days of driving. And cross your fingers, and yer' little piggies too!

Edit:
If I had gone to the dealer, and told him my tranny is shifting different, what are the chances that he would ask if I unplugged the TPS with the battery plugged in, and thentold me tojust keep drivin'.???
