I agree. I wash myvette everytime the sun comes out. I feel like I'm going to wash the paint off of it. As far as good vette clubs, I don't have first hand knowledge of which one would be the best to join, as I'm a recent transplant to the area. I do have a buddy here at work that owns a C4 that he used to race. I'll check with him and get back to you.

Here is a question for you, did you change the ring and pinion in your vette to a 3.07 or did it come that way stock? I can't figure out what size gear I have in the rear axle and I am not sure what options there were in 79 I do know that it does take a second to get into the power so i am wondering what possible gear size is back there. Any light you can shed on this would be helpfull.
She came with the 3.07 when I got her. The M-22 was geared too low, that's why I went to the 3sp w/OD. Lookin' for 70+ mph at 2400 rpm. Was about 70 at3200.
Jack up your rear wheels, and count the rotations of the drive line to one rotation of the wheel. That will get you close to figuring your ratio.Apparently the 3.07 came with the close ratio 4 sp. Your 350 turbo is probably backed by around a 3.58 (3 1/2 turns of the drive shaft to one rotation of the wheel.)
