Wheel lock
Just bought a 89 vette. There is a special wrench that is needed to take the center cap off to get at the lug nuts. I have tried everywhere I can think. They are factory 89 wheels. I hope someone can help me. Thanks
No question is stupid. Yes I did look there. Thanks anyway. Problem solved. Went to local Chevy dealer and ordered a new wrench and bolts. The wrench wouldn't take the old bolts out. A friend has a body shop. Took it over to him and he drilled a hole in the center and used a EASY-OUT to get them out. I installed the new bolts and put the wrench in the console where it belongs. Thanks to everyone that tried to help me.
Too bad the guy you bought it from didn't take care to keep track of the wrench but at least you got the problem solved. On my 88 I had to weld a socket to the wrench so I could use an impact driver to get the bolts out, they were that tight! Plus someone bugered the bolts up a bit trying to get em loose. How much did the dealer hit you for the 4 bolts and newwrench. I may replace mine since the wrench dosen't fit the best any more.
I did get my new wrench and lock bolts from my local chevy dealer like Danase said. They listed @ $140. I got them for $95. Guess they felt sorry for me. The new ones went right in. I did put some NEVER SEZE on them. I want them to come out easy if they have to. Take care. Happy Holiday's to all.
