Default corvettes in the winter?!

so, i live just north of detroit michigan. starting the weekend right after thanksgiving we have been getting snow, with some serious snow this week. in the last few days, even in the hard snow, i have seen a TON of C6 corvettes...my guess was that people are finally taking delivery, and they want to drive them?? ive also seen several C5s riding around, and yesterday, in a snow storm that dumped abotu a half a foot or more on us, i saw a C5 z06....i dont get it...my car is no corvette, and it still doesnt see snow!

I have been seeing here south of Detroit too Patrick. I was thinking that they can not afford a winter beater after purchasing the Vette. LOL

Wow, you have to be crazy or desperate to drive a vette in snow. We tried with our Camaro once, when it was stock, and it was really bad.

I had enough problems trying to drive my V6 Mustang in the snow, I can't imagine trying to drive my Vette that has about 150 more HP.

They won't rust but the sure will shatter to pieces when the car goes sliding into a curb or tree. LOL If I HAD to drive a Vette in the winter I would find some skinny wheels for it and throw on some snow tires at least!

Hey why not drive a C5 or C6 in the snow? Isn't that the ultimate in luxury -- to be able to afford driving a kickass car like a Corvette just like it was a normal machine? On the way to my wife's work, we often see a 1980s Ferrari 308. Not uncommon in the fancy neighborhood around her office buidling. But unlike most such cars, this one gets driven in rush hour, middle of January, in the wet -- you name it.

Having a "beater" Ferrari. Now THAT'S livin'!

Default Take it off the road

I put my C5 away, my GMC Z71 is much better in the winter, I am already missing it, but it safe from rock chimps, fender benders, and other people slipping thru stop signs. And if its bad I just hit 4H Be safe.
