Well put!!! I totally hear ya on this post. I've always wondered, though, if you look up to American Iron, why not just join forces with the winning team? There's a lot of the mindset I just don't get.

There's a dude here at my office, a real nice dude I think the world of; expect for his taste in cars. He's got a Civic, replete with fart can and 4 point harness, and stickers, and.... the list goes on. He's also got a bone stock MR2. He almost factory ordered a new Civic Si the other day.... that was a close call.

Anyways, we had a marvellous day here late last week. Sunny and pretty warm, considerin'. Roof down weather, for sure. Coming back from errands my buddy was wanderin' down the road so I pulled over and told him to hop in for a ride. I let the beast loose. He kept goin' on and on about how much money he'd have to spend on his Civic to make it near as fast as the Vette, and how it still wouldn't have that torque.

I asked him, "Why not buy a Vette, then??"

No response, really. I can't get my head around it, at all, to be honest.

 

Suppose there could be a fear factor, Hmmmm?
I've made a few people sceetch like a little girl, just palyin' around.

 

Never thought of that before, dude!! Yeh, I skeered the livin' poop right outta him on this backroad here, by the office. I let 'er fly, big time. You could feel he was slightly nervous. Yeh, maybe that's why......

 

That was funny as hell! I have these guys in their rice burners with a loud mufflers all the time pull up and rev, have dignity pull away slow, like you wouldn't waste your time.

The "look at me generation" could save a bunch of money by getting some dayglo graphics saying, "Look at me, I'm going to do something really stupid any second with this lump". Funny how theaccessory one sees most often on the back of a 'riced out' econo car(besides the required 'fart can') is the reflection of party lights from a police cruiser. Classic case of self induced profiling.
