LMAO... 100 hp and 100 ft lbs of torque at 4000 RPM. That's funny. Hell, a Toyota Prius Hybrid can do better than that!

bill.

Torque. It's all really about torque. And no torque is as good as low-end torque. At low RPM , nothing but displacement really helps. My car is a case in point: it has a max 745 RWT at 4500 -- an RPMwhere the SCR is really working. But right off idle (at just 1000 RPM), where the SCr is doing nothing yet, it registers 525 RWT, which computes to about 100 RWHP, and that fat torque curve means its putting down close to 250 RWHP (about what an automatic trans LT1 C4will doat its max) by just 2000 RPM (still no noitceable boost). That's all due to displacement, combined with good heads and a "grandfather" (low end torque) cam.

That's just lame. Who the heck wants to drive a car around town at 7,000 rpm constantly? Man, I'd think the sound of buzzing bee's would drive me totally insane.....

Wow! that looks just like the power curve for my 2-stroke motocross bike. I'll bet if you put a couple of knobbies on the back it would go like crazy in the dirt

I couldn't agree with you guys more about low end tq, but you should know something about Honda motors before you assume that car is not a fun, effective car. That car will rev to 8K faster than an LS2 will get to 5K, and most likely in any gear.I'd imagine it can rip all the way to 4th gear extremely fast, so low end tq really isn't an issue when your crank assembly has very little mass and your tranny has a 4.40+ final drive ratio. However, where that car will suck is not in it's power band, but in the FWD setup. Honda guys live in denial (believing their car actually hooks up decent w/ nothing but Mickey Thompson's and a Quaife LSD, when in comparison to muscle cars they don't.) Suspension work is where all the money should be spent on FWD setups, especially Honda's since they are so light and have such short gears.

Anywho, Corvette power all the way, but never underestimate the underdog.

PS: That curve would be much more linear at low boost, just not near as much tq produced. Yeah, the turbo is oversized. Typical.
