Crate Motor Did Well

Crate Motor Did Well
I had been meaning to come back and post some results. I know its not about a 'vette strictly speaking, but anyway. I bought one of those G-tech acceleration trackers for my car. I know that the G-techs are only approximate, but the dragstrips are closed this time of year up here and I wanted to see how well it would do after spending all summer and fall getting a new engine into the car.
I have a 1970 Chevelle SS with a stock GM ZZ 355HP crate engine in it. During an all too brief dry period here I did a series of runs on a nince straight, and I hope, level, road here. It did a best of 0-60 mph in 6.0 seconds and quarter mile in 14.0 seconds at 102. I'm very pleased since that is the same 0-60 and a better time and trap speed than a 325 HP 396 SS did back in the 70s.
