[/align]I understand his position and respect it, but I don't know if a Vette beating a Cobra should be suspect, now if tis the way it happened he can be suspect, but I've always had a thing in saying that if I wasn't there I can't say it didn't happen, but that is just me, I understand, but lets all put this behind us!

He just doesn't like the fact you were racing on the street. Kinda frowned apon here. Nice kill. Chevy's rule!

A Y pipe is a pipe that connects the left and right header downpipes together and routes them to a single exhaust pipe - LS engines in Camaros and some GM SUVs and trucks have these, even if later on the exhaust splits and exits the rear as two tailpipes.

An H or an X pipe is a set of pipes that connect the two header downpipes for the V8 to a dual exhaust: the H pipe is basically two pipes, one for each side of the exhaust, connected by a crosspipe. The X is the same thing except the two sides bend and meet. (Go to websites like Corsa or Borla and look at the pictures and you'll see. H and X pipes provide more power than just a straight dual pipes (one on each side) exhaust - sharing a bit of pressure side to side, but well donwstream of the engine, leads to a bit more mid range torque.

'vettes come standard with a type of H pipe exhaust so when someone says they have a X or Y pipe exhaust, they generally mean they upgraded to bigger pie daimters, etc.

It's too bad that ford never produced a 2005 SVT cobra.

Good call. That was the transition from the old body style to the new body style huh. So that race must have been a BS story or your buddy doesn't know what year his car is.
Thanks 5.0!

Learn how tocomprehend guy. It was one guy saying he raced an 05 svt cobra. Someone else asked about what an x pipe was. Comprehend then type.[8D]
