Im 22 andhad lost my license for a year before I got this car so I dont drive excessively fast very often. The fastest that I have gone is about 115 on the highway and it was very hard to lay off the gas pedal.

It's a '02 ZO6 with a 427 cubic inch (7-liter) C5R engine (essentially the same as the LS7, just hand-built) with all forged aftermarket internals, Patriot III ported heads, Jesel shaft rockers, Kocks headers, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc., and a Procharger D1SC running 8 lbs of boost, with methanol injection that kicks in at 95% full throttle. It puts down 703 RWHP with cats and full exhaust on pump gas, still drives stock around town.

Only a little over 120. Wasn't able to go any faster, safely that is.
It was pretty cool though, after about 95 it seemed like everything got real quiet, and she was running extremely smooth...

I don't own a Vette, but when I still had the 3.42 gears in the back before I upgraded them to the 3.73's, I hit 6200 RPM in 5th. By a gear calculater (since my speedo only goes up to 150 mph) it was 187. I don'tknow if it was really that fast, but I bet it was at least over 180.

What car were you driving if not a vette?

When I calculate 5th at 6500 in a C5 with standard size tires and a 3.73, I get right at 170mph (a stock engine -- 300 RWHP -- would pull this if modified/reprogrammed to rev to 6500 instead of 6250).

An M6 F-body (Camaro, Firebird) with standard size tires and 3.73 would doroughly the same mph at 6500 (this speed would require modifications to about 350 RWHP).

A vette with a 3.73 would top out in 6th, if it could pull 6500 RPM, at about 220, at which speed it would need right around 600 RWHP. 196 mph with a 3.73 and standard size tires would be 5800 rpm in 6th with around 430-440 RWHP.

Again, this was done with 3.42 gears in my M6 Z28 (info in sig). I was at 6200 RPM in 5th gear which by a gear calculator would put me at 196. I don't know if it was really that fast or not since the speedo was buried. I know it was well over 180 though. 6th gear really didn't pull too much with the 3.42's, at that speed I put it in 6th and it barely would hold the speed, 5th gear was the only one that still pulled.

I will have to try it again sometime now that I have the 3.73's. Perhaps 6th gear will pull up top now.
