1958 Trunk Lid operation
Hey, everyone. I got a '58 fuelie recently and am delevoping some questions. I hope as I learn more about this I can offer information, too.
Two coil springs are designed to give the trunk lid "resistance to closing" and "hold open" capabilites. The trunk will not hold itself fully open. It sags to 50% or so.
Do my springs need replacement or will the existing jamb nuts give it enough adjustment? Thanks for any advice.

RE: 1958 Trunk Lid operation
I have a '58 vette. I have had it for 33 years, so I know a lot about them. I think the problem of the trunk lid not staying up is because of the weight of the trunk irons (spears). This also happens to mine. I just make sure it settles in place before I put my head inside the trunk. Hope this is helpful.
