1979 corvette, we replaced the passenger side regulator and motor. Did not replace anything on the drivers side, as same parts were already replaced two months ago. Initially both windows will operate up and down when car is first started. For some reason, within minutes after car is started, both windows cease to operate up or down. After car is shut off for a few moments the windows will operate again. The only thing we are aware of that the driver and passenger window have in common is a fuse which has been replaced.


I have researched this in the forums and found that there is no relay past 1978. Additionally my dash lights when out at this same time, not sure what this might have to do with it. Any help in this would be greatly appreciated.

 

had the same problem, it was the wire that goes through the door, it was crimped so it was intermintent then just quit working.

Wonder if there is a thermal switch that's opening up? Didn't know that they deleted the relay.
