Helping my daughter-in-law with her 1979 corvette. Generator light on. Battery reads 12.4 volts with car off. 14.4 volts with the car running. Interior lights brighten and dim when revving the engine. Diode trio maybe?

 

Welcome to the forum. Most auto parts stores will test both your alternator and battery for free. I'd give that a go first.
