I've had a couple and haven't had any probs. I have one in my container, just to have around in case I blow my M-22. The M-21 and M-22 are more popular, partly because of the aluminum case. (lighter)The Sags are a cast steel/iron case.
I'm not sure, but I think the 3 sp. w/OD that's goin' in the "Starship" is a Sag.
I've been told that the Munci is stronger than the Sag, but as far as personal experiance, they have both worked equally well.

(nothin like a well defined, definite, maybe, eh?)

The Saginaw is a decent trans. I would rate the Muncie first, Borg Warner Super T-10 second and the Saginaw third. I too prefer the Muncie because of weight savings and durability. I have an M-21 in the Vettean M-22 in the Camaro and a spare M-21 in case I make a boo boo. If you are noot going to beat on the car or try any hard shifting, a Saginaw will work fine.
