Default '68 Steering Vibration

I have a1968 Corvette. I am getting an odd vibration when i steer. The vibration only happens when i turn left. It does not have power steering. Has anybody else ever had this problem? Does anybody know what could cause this? I am new to this forum and would like to try and get some info from people who know what they are talking about. Thank You

Hmmm... I'd start with wheel bearings, they often make noise only when turning one direction. Second thing I would check is brake hardware to see if a caliper is sticking part way or if a pad is whacked in the mount, and the torque on the wheel when turning is enough to make it rub a bit.

Also check the tie rod ends and the pitman arm for looseness.
Does it appear to pull to one side?

My son posted the first message for me. It does not really feel like a vibration. It kind of sounds like a rubbing noise. When you look at the steering box it says to check lube. Is there lubrication with this and is there a way to check it? It akmost sound as if it is coming from the steering wheel rod.

Can you wiggle the steering wheel side to side or up and down? If so, it could be a bearing on the steering shaft, inside the steering collum.

Hi StuccoSteve and welcome to the forum.
To check the oil in the steering box, remove the bolt closest to the front of the car. Then remove the bolt that is closest to the drivers fender.
Pour or pump in some lube into the "Front" hole untill it cames up to the "Fender" hole. Replace the bolts and your done. Don't mess with the middle bolt, that's the lash adjuster screw.
The steeting box has a seal on the bottom, have you seen any leaks after you park?
