Default Brake Calipers

Anyone ever purchased calipers from "Dr. Rebuild's Corvette" or have an opinion about this vendor?

I hadn't heard of them, I have been thinking about buying a set from zip. If you do buy from them let us know how it goes.

I recently purchased components from ZIP ( Wiper Pump/Washer & Door Actuator). The Actuator rod was stuck and ZIP replaced without any issue.
Just like you trying to decide which vendor has the best value/quality product. Hopefully will get a reply about Dr. Rebuilds as the price is reasonable.

Vette Brakes and Products and Stainless Steel Brakes Corporation are two good vendors. Dr Rebuild has been around a long time because I still have an old printed catalog from them from about 20 years ago.

Recommend getting stainless-steel lined calipers and staying away from O-ring pistons.

There are many caliper sources around that have the stainless liner, rockauto has a acdelco reman $60 core $148 for the caliper. Carid has about the same. Oreilies about the same. If you want cheap go to amazon, unlined would last another 45 years, I'm sure that's longer than I would last. There are a few specials that go on sometimes, so check around. Zip has good stuff but it is more expensive sometimes, but they carry items the other Corvette suppliers don't. I like bargains but not junk.

I've read that several, maybe most, auto parts stores' calipers and rotors come from China and are legitimately junk.

There are a lot of parts that come from china. take your chances and hope you don't get junk. Try and find a C-3 air vent tube from the air box to the fan motor for cooling, they don't exist.

The air vent tube is not cast iron though. I think that was the message in the articles demeaning the China product.

I think there are a number of rebuilds with stainless sleeves rebuilt here in the states. I have not seen any new calipers built with sleeves from china.
