Can you replace a mechanical fuel pump with a electric one?

Is there really that much of a chance that I'll have some kind of fire in my engine compartment if I use this electric fuel pump, you're getting me nervous here...

It kind of depends on how you plumb the electric fuel pump in. There's a reason GM doesn't use hoses on the output side of their mechanical fuel pump. 🔥
Just saying it doesn't cost anything to be safe. 🧯 🙂
