I'm going to replace carpet in my 1977 corvette but i see they sell cut pile and 80/20 loop. my question which one came in the corvette originally.

In the early seventies the standard interior had the loop pile and the custom leather interior had the plush pile. I don't know if they switched later on to standard leather which means they probably had the plush. Unless you're restoring it for NCRS competition, I would recommend going with the plush regardless of what it had originally. Was there no trace of the original carpeting either on the floor or in the back storage compartment?

 

Yes their is and it looks like the plush pile carpet but i wasn't sure.I would still like it to look original as possible. I couldn't find anywhere where it said for sure. not restoring for competition. THANKS for your reply.

 

You could also check w/ some of the aftermarket suppliers. If it has leather seats and wood grain inserts then it would be plush.
