Forum Newbie with lotsa questions on 74 C3!
There are those people who will pay more for a car based on its color, but being a roadster with both tops, in very nice condition, I don't think so. At least not a significant amount. I'm curious as to why the bumper covers need to be replaced. How about pictures of the damage? Maybe check with your body guy about repairs?
Here ya go fellas......THIS is the way I bought it. (Still sports the PO plates in these pics, got mine on the car now.) I'm fortunate to have a friend who owns a body shop who I am confident will do a great job, when he can get to it. His shop is always very, very busy, so I will have to wait my turn, but this isn't a project I would take on myself. So now....what do you think? Ugly now, but I think when it's done it will be a pretty car, and when I get some time I'll post some more pics.....the soft top is in great shape with a nice clear back window and as I mentioned, I also have the matching color hardtop which I believe adds value to the car. How many buyers wanted to spring for the added expense of a hardtop back in 1974, and how many of those cars survive today? PS: I also happen to really like the turbine style wheel covers, which seem to be a lot more rare than the usual trim rings/center caps seen so often. Btw, the car has 59,000 well documented miles, with the PO only adding 1000 of those over the last 13 years!

Thanks for the kind words! That means a lot, since I have seen some of your posts and your amazing collection! LOVE that latest big block roadster you found!
I have to concentrate on just this one car, but my intention is to get it back to being as nice as it can be!

I think I paid about $300 for my NOS front bumper about 20 years ago. It's still soft and pliable but hasn't been out of the wrapper or painted yet. I originally was going to get a Tru-flex bumper cover until I read that "some fitting is required". I didn't want to invest that much of my labor in fitting it. You could talk to your buddy and see if there's enough of a cost differential between the two options to see if it would be cheaper to do the Tru-flex.
