Ok so I am working on my customers 68 vette & I close the drivers door , I can no longer open the door , neither the inner or outer button releases the mechanism , I have the door panel off & the arms etc on the latch are all moving freely but the latch arm around the latch pin will not release
Any help is appreciated , Thanks in advance

1. check to see that the lock mech is released
2. squirt a little wd-40 on the latch arm pivot
3. make sure the latch arm is attatched

I have tried all 3 , & I have tried jacking the car to close & open the door gap as well to see if it will release with pressure changes as the frame is tweaked , I have also tried to push in on the door to change the pressure on the latch , I have also tried to pry the latch up with the button pushed in fully , just looking for a solution short of a cutting torch or sawzall !!

 

unbolt the front hinges and try poppin it off backwards...its worth a shot.

 

that could work ........itwont slide off forward though due to the wide lip on the end of the pin

No worky , I can get the hinge bolts insid eth edoor but cannot get the hinges out of the door without it being open

 

oh...thats gay. i dont suppose there is any room to get at the striker bolt and unscrew it or unbolt the lock mech. altogether...man thats a tuffy...i may have to brainstorm with my "expert"
