Hood Air Door
I am trying to figure out how the hood air door on my 75 works. I traced the wires and can get power to it, which makes it operate, however the manual shows a solinoid, which I can't locate. I also am not sure what switch operates the air door. When I got the car many wires were disconnected, so there has been alot of work under the dash, but this one has me perplexed. My guess is it connects to the switch above the throttle, so that when you put petal to the floor, the carborator will gets more air. How does the switch get power? Where is the solinoid located? Help will be appreciated.
The solenoid is up by the air door in the hood. The switch on a four speed is located by the accelerator pedal and is actuated at full throttle just like the kick down switch in an auto tran. FWIW I took my door and solenoid out so the cowl air is available all of the time.
