Default Intake swap

I'm planning to swap the stock intake and carbto a Edelbrock RPM performer and Edelbrock carb. I'm wondering if anyone else has made this swap and what you used for the aircleaner. I have the stock 75 cowl hood.

Thanks.

i have a 68 with 327, summit racing told me that a rpm performer would not fit under a stock corvette hood. i went with the performer intake and i still have clearance problems.edelbrock makes a low profile air clraner. which i will have next week, ill let you know if it works.go to the edelbrock web site and you can see the air cleaner, and they have a tech line.also there are some super members on this forum that really knows thier stuff that may reply and help us both out, did you hear me PG? if we dont get any input ill let you know next week. good luck

I have a K&N air filter the one that has a filter top andhas a2 /1/2 inche drop. This sits on top of a 650 Holley and Edelbrock Preformer manifold. No clearance problems with my 74.

The Holley was already on it when I purchased the car.
I can send you pictures if you like.
Holley's are much easier to set-up, tune and repair.

Hi SCHOON, I would like to see the pic's.
There a post in the forum where he put on a 570cfm Holly and claimed that his milage went from 14 to 22! That's a change over that makes sence to me, so I got courious about what's involved.
I went to a Holly site but the smallest they had was 600cfm, I want to no if the vacuum fitings are there for the power brakes, the transmission modulater, the dist. vacuum advance. Will it fit on my stock manifold?
I've kept my car stock because it's hard enough to get a correct stock replacement.
Have a great day, PG.

WellI just hit a road block to installing my intake this weekend, I ordered Chevy orange powder coat from eBay and it ain't orange. I thought it looked a bit too red, so I tried it out on a waterneck I had laying around. Sure enough, it's red. I wanted to make this swap before the Carlisleshow. Guess I'll have to live with the Quadajet a little longer.
I'll post some pics when I get this thing coated and installed.
