automatic tranx swap

RE: automatic tranx swap
Yes, I did it about 3 years ago. I used a 2004R out of a Buick Grand National because I was told the valving was a little better for the Vette. But I also know of someone who used one out of a Cadillac.
The advantages of using the 200-4R rather than the 700-R4. The 200 is the exact same length as the Turbo350, so you don't have to worry about shortening the driveshaft. First and second gears in the 200 are shorter than the 350, so you get off the line a little quicker, third gear is the same, and then there's overdrive. I went from getting 16-18 mpg to getting over 23. The only real disadvantage is that the 200-4R's are harder to find. Go to Bowtieoverdrives.com (or 2004R.com , same company) and they sell the crossmember that you'd need for about $180. Don't bother getting the Throttle Valve kit, your old one will work. Also the shifter detent kit is for sale there. I bought it, but ended up returning it and just modifying my old one.
Let me know if I can be of any help.
