According to my factory manual, that's what I understand. I was talking with one of the local Vette club members, and he told me that over 5,000 sets of L-82 emblems have been sold. A lot of people were getting the L-82's and puttin' them on L-48's. My car is just such a case. I has the L-82 badges, but the Vin breaks down to an L-48.

Sorry about that eithe the site or my computer is messed up but...
After looking at production numbers i find it hard to believe that L48's were 4spds and L82s were automatic because for most years there were more L48s produced than L82s but there are more automatics produced that 4spds...

Hey. This is my first post to the forums. I’m very excited to actually be a member; I’ve been looking around for about a year whenever I needed to get away from homework. I suppose it’s been dangerous in that regard.
I’ve got a quick question regarding the L-48/L-82 distinction. If each had equal displacement, how, precisely, did the later achieve more power (I assume this is what “performance” means)?
Also, does anyone know when the Corvettes switched from carbs to EFI? Any help would be appreciated by this newb. Thanks!
