Default Offically a Vette owner

Well I am excited about bringing my Vette home. It is in pretty good shape and at the same time has a bunch of little things I'll need to do. Of course on the way home a couple more things popped up. Like the windshield wipers always spray. Anyone know how this happens. Is itjust a short in the switch? The other thing is a power steering leak. Thats the one that I'll have to get a pro to do. Not real sure how to do that. Might give it a try if it is just a hose, but not if it is the pump. Anyway, will post pics of it tomorrow when the sun is out.

To find the leak, first you'll need to degrease the area with some degreaser and high pressure water. Then you'll be able to better see where the leak is originating. On the washer, you'll need to disassemble the unit and see why the lever that energizes the pump is not resetting after one revolution. I'm assuming that it has the motor with the integral pump. Probably make it easier if you can pop the cover off one similar that works and observe what happens when the washer is engaged. If you can't figure it out, take a good close-up of the motor with the cover removed and maybe we can further assist.

will do that tomorrow. I have the same problem with my Chevelle. Kinda wierd that both my cars do that. Anyway, will have to post pics for you to check out as I have no way of finding a c3 locally to look at the motor.
Thanks for the info

What years are your cars?

The reason I said it would help to see a good one operate is so you can see how it functions. It's hard to describe since it's sort of a Rube Goldberg device.

My Vette is a 1980 and the Chevelle is a 72. I figure they are both suffering from something similar.
