Default power steering

I was talking to a buddy the other day about the vette and power steering lines leaking and he mentioned something about the power steering pressure relief valve going on on these and causing the wheel to pull. Anyone had any issues with this?

I had leaks and the same pulling problem.
Figure how old the car is and if the power steering componets were never replaced it's time.
Really not that expensive to do.

Sweetness224, does your vette pull to one side or the other as you drive down the road?
If so you can adjust the valve. See http://content.mamotorworks.com/pdf/602452.pdf For a how to correct that problem.

The relief valve acts to regulate pressure. If you ever autocross or just try to turn the steering wheel very fast, you'll notice that you can't which is basically caused by the cylinder trying to push oil back faster than the relief valve can relieve it. The fix is to put a pickup truck valve in. The downside is a little loss of on-center control at highway speeds.

You can just take the belt off the PS pump. The steering is going to be pretty heavy.

Can you afford a salvage yard pump?
