Starts than dies.
I had to change the fuel pump because fuel was poring out of it. After I changed it (was not fun nor easy) it started just fine. I drove it to a gas station close by, because all my gas pored out of my fuel pump by the time I figured out that that was the problem. I put ten dollars in the tank, then started it right up. I reved the engine a few times to make sure the new fuel pump was working and then the car died. After that I could not get it to start all day. I came back the next day and it still wouldn't start. I had it toed home and pored a little gas strait into the carb and it started. It will start with some trouble, but it only lasts a few seconds before it dies. Does any one know what he problem could be?
I did some poking around and I do think you are right. I pulled the line that goes from the pump to the carb and rerouted it in to a large cup. I turned the engine over a few times and absolutely nothing came out. I routed it before the fuel filter just to make sure that nothing got in the way. The brand I got was Airtex. Are they any good? If not, what do you recommend?
PS: thanks for all the help.

I changed the fuel pump and it started right up. I bought a Holley fuel pump. It did not have a place for the fuel return line. I talked to some guys that work at my local high performance parts store, and they told me not to worry about it. They said it isn't important with that pump. what do you guys think about it. The corvette is running. Thanks for all the help.
If you don't have any vapor lock problems then you will be OK with the no return pump.
Did you ever get the headlight problem solved?
What's the deal with the fiberglass and the hood problem?
