Stumped with self rising ride height?
Hi Guys (and girls I'm sure),
Car: 1981 Corvette C3
We are at the tail end of a complete C3 corvette restoration over here in Australia. But I'm stumped with this transverse spring and ride height.
I've installed longer bolts (8" long) and thought I had it down to a respectable 28.1" (ground to outer wheel arch), then I come back two hours later and the car has risen like a cake in the oven another 0.78" (20mm in Aussie language).
Could this be the shockers somehow? In the photo you can clearly see the spring has a far stronger arch to it that before we started the restoration.
Any advice welcome as it's hard to get answers locally!

I can see what you are trying to accomplish with the longer bolts, but I can't
see why the transverse spring seems to be over arched.
I have aprox 2" clearance in the rear wheel wells and I have a composite transverse spring.
In front too.
Did you have any issues during installation?

When I put longer bolts in my 73, it definitely lowered the car. Be sure you check the clearance between the end of the spring and the side wall of the tire when you are performing this modification.
