ok so check it out! my 77 is havin some problems! i bought a b&m shiftkit for it and installed it exactly like they said. but i dont have a reverse and the car tops at like 2500 rpm, like it has a problem shifting. . . . not good!!! and whats the trick to adjusting an edelbrock carb? its a 600 performer series. so yea other than that its a dream, exept the interior. haha

 

Sounds like you have the shift pawl out of adjustment. You have a turbo 350 or a 400?

 

Can't help with the tranny problem but the last Edelbrock I went through tuned pretty easy, you can order the jets, metering rods and other tune up parts from them.

 

yea its a turbo 350, i fixed the "main" problem but still no reverse...and under the hood right next to the throttle cable, is another cable...it looks like it connects to the same side as the throttle cable so....i dunno! help please!!

 

The other cable next to the carb is the transmission kick-down cable, you'll need to attach that to the bellcrank that the throttle cable is on but on the bottom of the bellcrank, the results that you want is when you open the throttle with the pedel the trans cable is being pulled, this kicks the tranny into "passing gear" when you get on it.

 

neato... but still no reverse! does anyone know what the other 2 check ***** in the tranny are for? cause the instructions told me to remove all but one..so i'm thinking that might be it.
oh and what it the kick down cable is ALWAYS pulled...what would that do...?
