My 84 crossfire started to cut off and stall, just a few days after I bought it, 3 weeks later the list of gremlins were as follows, someone had put sugar in gas tank previously, so I changed fuel pump, filter, cleaned gas tank, throttle plate, still stalled, but less, then went to electrical system, combination of alternator loose wire which attributed to insufficiantant voltage at times, damaging distributor and also the MAF was not working properly, hope this helps.......

 

Just for the record '84s don't have a MAF. Have a MAP.
