Default What's this with the Power Steering Pump

Since I got the correct motor mounts for my 1978 L82 the engine does now fit. However, now the power steering pully hits the frame/ cross member for the radiator on the front driver's side in front of the radiator. Now, the prblem ended up for the engine not fitting due to a bent transmission crossmember. It was slightly bent upwardcausing the extra inch of clearance I needed. It was bent upward from a bottom-out. I put a new transmission crossmember so that should not be a problem now as I gained the clearnce from on top. I put a '73 L82 engine into a '78 L82. I was told that the crank pully was smaller on the '73. The 1978 pump and pully would not fit so I boughta 1973 pump and pully. I tried to get the smallest pully I can find and they seem to be all the same for the smallest GM pully. The cast Ironone is bigger though I am not using it offcourse. I am using the 1973 pully and pump and it still seems thatit won'tfit. I am hoping that I will be able to crank the '73 over far enough that it lifts from the frame. It seemed that way with the '73 that I looked at. My mechanicdoesn't seem to want to try it as he feels that it won't fit. Looking at itit seems as if it won't.Any ideas out there as to what I can try? Has anyone run into this? Anywhere to findyet smaller pullies?

With a double pully on the crank, can you see a way to move to the pully closest the block? I have found, I can use some accessory parts from other Chevys, just by moving to the other side of the mount.
