JetHot is the way to go to cut down underhood temps plus if they're new parts, I believe there's a lifetime warranty on them.

I would deffinetly recommend the jet hot coated headers!!! the coating reduces engine bay temps and with the nest o snakes greatly reduces chaces of that big red blister on your calf when exiting the car!!! i think you can get them from jet hot with everything headers, sidpipes, maxflow inserts, for like 1100 delivered to your door!!

When I installed my new Thorley Headers the instructions said wrapping them would void the warranty.
Here's why,
Using any sort of wrapping material on the headers destroys the tubings ability to dissipate heat, causing very rapid deterioration of the metal and the subsequent failure of the headers.
Hope this helps,
Schoon

Your title sucked me into replying to this one. About 15 years ago I tried rapping the headers on my road racing car. I cant remember if I felt a horse power gain but I do remember my transmission hump got so hot I could feel it through a 3 layer nomex fire suit With another layer of nomex under ware. My leg was burning from the knee down. after getting the car up to work on it the pipes from just behind the header were glowing red about2 feet out. After we removed the rap everything was fine. Also this was notaCorvette. I would take a lookto see what its doing.

From everything I've ever heard, it's best to wrap the headers. Reducing the under-hood temp makes everything happier.
For everything to get hot "due to header wrap?" I've never heard of that. I've also seen many good runnin' drag cars w/ wrapped headers. Not saying that there aren't headers w/ some type of properties that can't stand the wrap for some reason.

I think what happens is when you wrap the headers, it keeps the heat in and makes the exhaust gas hotter and when it gets downstream, then that pipe will get hotter than before wrap. Just my guess.

Well, sounds like there are pros and cons for wraping headers.
I'm goin' to hav'ta ponder this issue before I decide.
I do want it a little cooler under the hood, andglowing "Nest" might look pretty "Hot" ( cool ) at night.

Just watch your legs when you get out.

Burnt flesh just smells bad. []

But red hot side pipes would definitely look cool.
