Default 1987 Corvette Convertible, how do you change out the power antenna

I have a 1987 Corvette Convertible, and power antenna is not extending. I can hear antenna motor humming. How do you change out the power antenna?

Welcome to the forums. Skill level is not too high. There was a kit available for that at one time, I have not checked lately.(probably not anymore). YouTube has videos showing someone replacing units. Remove the rear inner fender, should expose the unit, remove a few screws not bad. Wear safety glasses for the dirt.

Thanks
Didn't think you had to remove inner fender and rear tire

I'm Not sure if you really need to do that, but it does give you more room. That's just the way he showed how to do it in his video. On the 77 it comes straight down, but I think I have a little more room. You can try it straight down and see if you have the room.

Welcome to the forum. Some of the major aftermarket Corvette suppliers also have tech articles on common replacement items on their websites.
