Smile Are the 84 BOSE speakers good?

I just bought this clean 84/AT./Hd susp/leather I see the front speaker covers claim to be BOSE! The radio is an after market and I have the original BOSE and the back amps/speaker lumps. My question is: is this sys STILL a VG sys, I'm not into the big LF BUMPS but want 20-20,000 Hz frequency response, the high end at the front with the ELF rear and mid's throughout! needless to say it rides like a dump truck AND has excellent turn in! The PO removed the mufflers and ran twin dual pipes sounds like a Vett should! I think I'M IN LOVE!

Welcome to the forum. There original system had Bose speakers with individual amps at each speaker. It was a good system when new but hard to tell now.

Unless you want to make it "original", I'd keep the aftermarket head unit if it's a good one. You'll have more features and probably better sound. The original Bose was a good unit in it's day but it's over 30 years old and I would suspect it was replaced due to some issues. Common for the amps to go bad. The original system has to work together so you probably have replacement speakers as well.
