Default 84 crossfire heater ?

How do I gain access to the valve that switches from hot to cold air. Mine is not closing all the way. I know its under the dash, but could you guys point me in the right direction. Thanks

1st, is your car manual a/c or does it have climate control? Manual a/c uses a cable that attaches to a lever under the passenger side. You have to remove lower trim cover to see it. You will have to lay on your backside and get really contorted to see it, but if you can, then you can watch the operation by sliding the temperature lever back and forth to see if it is moving. Climate control uses a vacuum control module (programmer) than routes vacuum to different valves based on inputs it receives from the a/c control head. Very seldom have seen vacuum valves go bad, it usually is the programmer and sometimes the control head.[8D]

I checked the cable and it is opening and closing properly. I still have hot air coming out the floor with it set on cool and turned to the off position. When I switch to vent I still get hot air. Any other ideas? Thanks.
