Hoping someone else has seen this. I have scoured the posts and can't find this specificly. When the ignition is first turned on my display is bright but it only stays that way for a few seconds as if it is timed or something is overiding it. All function of the display work fine and are visible...however hard to see well. Any ideas? Have done all the switch jiggling and have even maimed bright light at what I believe is a photocell in the upper left.

Any ideas would be appreciated

Classic problem with early C4's. Loose solder joint. There are posts referring to fixing it or the alternative is a rebuilt instrument panel to the tune of about 500.00.
